What the FAQ is going on here?
The Kingdom of Rambai is an endeavour geared to the creation of community, and a common identity associated with being a Rambanese. The Sultanate's primary and overriding goal is nationhood. In this modern day and age, community is an important glue which holds society together. The Sultanate seeks those who wish to unite to develop and form community, support, and a common identity in order to mold together a nation in which we can all be proud and desirous to contribute within.
Do you seek to claim your own land?
No we do not. We seek 'nationhood' which is different from 'statehood' in that we do not seek land. We accept and understand that some micronations follow a course toward statehood and choose to create relationships with all nations in the pursuit of our goal...community and nationhood.
Why a monarchy?
At the point of decision to pursue the creation of this Kingdom, we were unable to allow for a democracy due to the need to provide a course, vision and direction. A monarchy is not to say an absolute monarchy, where the Sultan rules absolutely, instead pursuing a Constitutional Monarchy in which the people provide voice and share direction towards nationhood.
What kind of game is this?
We prefer to not call the Kingdom a 'game'. It is not. As stated above, it is the pursuit of community in the interests of forging a common identify which all citizens can take pride in and which we can create relationships that spread beyond just our homes, hopefully learning in the process the values of community and in turn applying them back to the lives we lead and in other relationships.
If this isn't a game, why do you utilize fictional names for cities, locations and maps?
It is the difference between providing a sanitary, white forum board in which people merely talk, to providing some 'atmosphere' and the associated trappings of monarchy, a state and its applicable parts. Many people respond more to the rich and distinct mental pictures provided with a bit of atmosphere and in turn are more creative, productive and associate themselves more with the 'national identity' we are creating.
Is there a plan for some kind of economy?
Economy is a portion of micronationalism that is dealt with differently all over. Economy will develop from need. Markets, products, desire and needs will develop over time.
What kind of people is Rambai looking for?
Anyone. Anyone with a passion to contribute, make friends and have a blast.
